Coach Fritz Runge started playing in 1979 with Western State and Aspen RFC. After moving to Denver in 1981, he spent nine seasons with Queen City, then seven more with the Denver Barbarians.
His coaching began when he and several teammates founded the rugby club at Metropolitan State, where he was a player-coach for several years while still turning out for his own club side. He went on to coach the Black Ice women's club as well. Fritz has a son who's a sophomore at RJHS and will be playing 7s this fall.
